- נַהֲוַונְדְּpr. n. pl. Nahăwand, a Median town south of Ecbatana (v. Neub. Géogr. p. 377, a. Sm. Dict. Geogr. II. 495a> s. v. Orontes). Kidd.72a ‘the cities of Maday (2 Kings 18:12) זו נ׳ וחברותיהוכ׳ that means N. and her neighbors; … the forts of the Moschi ; Yeb.17a ניהר (corr. acc.). Kidd. l. c. חלזון ניהוונד, v. חָלְוַון (v. Neub. Géogr. p. 372, sq.).(Our art. מוֹשְׁכִּי needs correction; כרך מ׳ must be sought in Media.
